Three Months...and Teeth?!?!

Hi everyone,

Today is an exciting day...exactly three months ago today, Elise was born! I know every mom says it, but I can't believe that three months have already passed...where does the time go?! It's so amazing how much Elise has already grown and changed. She has so much personality already, I can't imagine how she is going to be in another three months! :) She has been such a good girl and we truly are blessed to have such a healthy, happy baby...that sleeps 8 hours straight already!!! About a week ago, Elise started drooling a ton and putting everything in sight into her mouth. I thought it was a bit early for her to start teething but apparently my husband was an early teether and it's actually hereditary...go figure. Earlier today I was massaging Elise's gums (it's supposed to alleviate some of the pain) and guess what I found...yup, you guessed it...a little white speck on her lower gum! I can't believe she has already cut her first tooth! It explains her recent fussiness and all of the drool! :) They say that the first tooth is the hardest for most babies, so I'm hopeful that the rest of the teething stage will be easier and less painful for her...and ME!

Here's a picture of the birthday girl...who now is no longer considered a newborn!

I love her little "Petal Pump" slippers!

Sitting in her Bumbo seat for the first time!

Don't they look like they are in school together and Elise is raising her hand!

Trying to make her gums feel better! I love her thighs in this picture...cutie!

In closing, I'd just like to say that the past three months have been the best three months of my life! :)

Tummy Time!

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! Since I've been on maternity leave I haven't had any concept of what day it is. Soon that will be coming to an end though...my first day back is February 2nd. I'm thankful that I will be working two days a week from home but I will definitely miss Elise on the days I have to go into the office. Now that she is a little more interactive, we've been having so much fun during the day! She has really taking a liking to her swing, which I am so glad about because in the beginning I think she was a little scared of it. In addition to her swing, she has really started to enjoy "tummy time." We practice it several times a day and she has gotten so strong. I'm so proud of her!! Here are some action shots for you.

I know every new mom says this but I can't believe how fast the time is going and how much Elise has grown and changed already. I truly have enjoyed every minute of the past 10 1/2 weeks!

Have a great weekend and stay warm! :)

Kim

9 Weeks Old!

Hi everyone,
I hope your 2009 is off to a great start. It definitely is for Elise. She had her two month "well-visit" on Tuesday where she was weighed and measured. She currently weighs 12 pounds and 3 ounces, which puts her in the 76th percentile! She is 24 1/4 inches long, which puts her in the 94th percentile! I think we have a future athlete on our hands! :) She got her first round of immunizations which consisted of 1 oral immunization and 1 shot in her thigh. I don't know who the shot was worse for, her or me! I felt SO bad for my little angel. The rest of the afternoon Elise was a little irritable but otherwise, she seemed to handle the immunizations well, thankfully.

Here are some new pictures of Elise...the first ones of 2009!

That's all for now. Have a good rest of the week!
Love,
Kim

Happy New Year!

Hi there,

Happy New Year! It's hard to believe that it's already 2009...it seems like we were just preparing for and celebrating Y2K!!! 2008 had its fair share of ups and downs but all in all it was a good year due to the fact that we welcomed our sweet little angel, Elise! It's amazing to think that exactly a year ago I wasn't even pregnant. Pardon the cliche but, what a difference a year makes!

We had a really nice New Year's Eve in Atlanta with my parents, sister and her boyfriend. Since it was pretty chilly outside we started the night off with a fire on my parent's patio. The rest of the evening was spent eating, drinking and counting down to the New Year! Here are some pictures capturing the exciting day and night...

Elise in her New Year's Eve romper getting ready for 2009!

Elise and her Aunty Nattie!!

My sister and I acting goofy after a couple glasses of champagne!

Miss Elise was getting crabby...midnight is way past her bedtime!

She's all better now!

What a cute little face!!

We're excited to see what 2009 brings! We can't wait for all of the "firsts" that Elise will experience! :)

Hi everyone,

Well, we made it safely to Atlanta. The drive went well and Elise was an angel, thankfully. We've been so busy since being in town. The day after we arrived I had a "sip 'n see" shower for my best friend Katie's second baby, Blake. He was born exacly 1 month after Elise was born and is so precious. We've already made plans for Elise and Blake's wedding!!! :)

Here's a picture of Katie with her new bundle, Blake, and myself:

We've been busy getting the rest of our Christmas presents purchased, baking cookies, cooking, and visiting with friends. Here's a peak into the past couple of days...

Here's my mom, rolling out dough for home-made pierogis! Yum!! :)

I even got a lesson so I can make them too!

While my mom and I were cooking, Greg and Elise were surfing the web:

Elise turned 7 weeks old on Monday! I can't believe how fast the time is going by now. She is doing so well and only waking up once during the night for a feeding. Here are a few new pictures of our sweet little angel:

And finally, my sister-in-law, Jodie got engaged on Sunday!! We are so excited for her and Bob. They make the sweetest couple! Bob is going to be Elise's first uncle so she is SUPER excited!

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! Check back again soon for more pictures and updates!

Love,
Kim
