A New Addition to the Family!

Before anyone jumps to conclusions after reading the title of this post, let me just say, I'm not pregnant! :) Last Saturday, Jodie, Greg's older sister, got married giving Elise her FIRST uncle!!! We headed to Florida for the big day and although it was sweltering outside, it was beautiful and went perfectly! Congrats to Jodie and Bob! Bob, welcome to the family! Elise loves you and is so happy she has an uncle now! She also wanted me to let you know that she's anxiously awaiting a cousin that she can play with, hint, hint! ;) Here are some pictures from our time in Florida.

Hanging out with mommy, ready for the party!

We have a busy few days ahead of us. Tonight we are carving our pumpkin, tomorrow I'm bringing Elise to my office Halloween party for some trick-or-treating, Saturday is Halloween and Tuesday is Elise's 1st Birthday! :)

Check back in a couple days for more pictures!

Pumpkin Patch!

This weekend we headed to the pumpkin patch to pick out Elise's first pumpkin. It was nice and sunny outside but boy was it COLD! The wind was brutal so we had to bundle our little pumpkin up! I think Elise was a little surprised with how cold it was because she would NOT smile for any of the pictures! After taking a hayride, we successfully chose our pumpkins - a miniature one just for Elise (that she held onto the entire time we were there and the entire car ride home!) and a big one to carve!

Getting ready for the pumpkin patch!

Happy Family!

Heading over to the BIG pumpkins - can you see her mini pumpkin?!

One last family shot, Elise still holding her pumpkin! :)

We had so much fun picking out the perfect pumpkin, now it's time to carve it! Pictures still to come of the finished masterpiece! ;)

11 Months Old!

Elise turned 11 months old last Saturday and I can't believe in less than a month, she will be a year old! She still has NO desire to walk, I think it's due to the fact that she can really cruise when she's crawling! She's still extremely vocal and we have a feeling she is going to be a little chatter box when she starts talking. :) We've been working on teaching her the parts of her face - she now knows where her teeth, ears and hair are. She also brushes her hair with her baby brush which is not something we taught her, but something she obviously picked up on! She is definitely a girly-girl! :)

Here she is playing with a big-girl brush and blow dryer - she loves watching me get ready in the morning!

Playing with a pad of paper

Love that face!

We took advantage of this gorgeous fall weather and went apple picking in North Georgia. Here are some pictures of our adventure!

Next weekend we're going to visit a pumpkin patch to pick out Elise's first pumpkin! Can't wait!!

New Pics!

There's not much new happening with us, so instead of a lot of writing I've included some pictures that I hope you'll enjoy! Elise will be 11 months old on Saturday, which is crazy to me. I can't believe that in a month we'll have a 1 year old!!!! Time flies when you're having fun! ;)

Sitting pretty!

Getting ready for a walk with grandma!

She won't go anywhere without her blanket lately! :)

Mid-Week Update!

This week has been gone awfully slow - I don't know if it's the constant rain or what the deal is! Thankfully Elise has kept us busy and entertained. She has been teething like crazy and just the other day we noticed another tooth (on the bottom) pop up. She now has 8 teeth and I have a feeling the next round will be her molars. She definitely does not deal with teething well so I can only imagine how she will react when it's time for those molars. YIKES!

She has started saying "uh oh" when she drops something, spits out her pacifer or throws her sippy cup. :) It's pretty cute - even when she drops something intentionally OVER and OVER again! My mom has taught her to lift her arms up when someone asks her, "how big is Elise?" I'm not sure she really understands what she's doing but it's cute nonetheless. It amazes me how much she is learning every day!

In this picture you can see her teeth:

Getting used to using a spoon at meal-time:

Trying her favorite hat on once more before she grows out of it!

Looks like she's re-arranging her furniture!

Still can't tell what color her eyes will be - brown or blue?!

TTFN!

Labor Day 2009!

We had a great Labor Day weekend that was jam-packed with activities. We've gotten really good at taking Elise with us pretty much everywhere and now that she's already 10 months old, she enjoys being out and busy too! Saturday afternoon was our usual Gymboree class. I think Elise is ready for level 3 so I brought the camera since it was her last level 2 class. :)

That night, my parents took us to the Braves game. I was a litte nervous about how Elise would do and how long she would last, but she did well and really enjoyed people-watching!

The weather was beautiful the entire weekend so we decided to take a trip to Stone Mountain on Monday. I had only been there once before and this was Greg & Elise's first trip.

Here's Elise at the candy store. :)

We took a ride on the Scenic Railroad which Elise LOVED!

We also took a ride on the Scarlett O'Hara boat.

We hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend as much as we did!

New Accomplishments and Pictures!

It has been so amazing watching Elise grow up right before our eyes and to experience all of the changes that take place, especially at this age! Elise has been on a roll lately, doing something new practically everyday. She has become a pro at clapping her hands, giving high-fives, puckering her lips like she's giving kisses, and standing un-assisted for about 10 seconds at a time. She has also gotten very good at imitating us. If I sniff my nose, she will too. If I clear my throat, she will too. It's adorable and makes us laugh everytime! We've realized how much she loves to see us smile and laugh, and how playful she is! I absolutely love seeing her personality develop!

Hope you enjoy some new pictures!

I caught her waving here:

Playing with some toys:

Her hair is finally long enough for barrettes!

Love the close-ups!

Playing with a cell phone - looks like she's sending a text message! ;)

Finally, one more tooth just appeared yesterday - she now has a total of 7! So exciting!!
